Look toward other people's stories as:

a) Inspiration. Do I have a similar problem? Would it help me to do the same or similar thing? Does it give me any new ideas? Use inspirational stories to brainstorm your own solution.

b) Analysis. After reading it, do you understand better why something was not working for you? Were you approaching your learning ineffectively? Do you not have a balance of various types of materials/practice? If you were constantly asking yourself, "How can I get (some missing thing)?" does something in the person's story answer that question?

This is how other people's stories have helped me in the last few weeks.

Try to avoid “shoulding” on yourself
Golden advice! For some reason, I get a huge motivational boost whenever I manage to "get" a Japanese pun hehe.
